How are you planning on setting your table for Christmas day? A great way of creating a stunning table is to stick to a particular theme or colour palette. This year we have created two table settings; a traditional red and white design and a Hamptons inspired, coastal look.

The traditional Christmas theme sticks to red and white with a touch of green foliage to break things up and add freshness. Layering plates and bowls vertically with rattan, napkins, and candle rings, keeps a setting from looking flat and creates visual interest. Stunning glassware, silver cutlery and a apothecary jar filled with pinecones for the centrepiece adds a touch of glamour. When creating a centrepiece for the table don’t forget to leave enough room to put the most important part - the food. If your guests are arriving before lunch or dinner to unwrap presents and chat you can always style your centrepiece with more and remove items when the meal is served.

Our coastal theme is inspired by the Hamptons and is great for warm Australian Christmases by the beach. We have created a cohesive look by sticking to a colour palette of blue and white with natural elements, like rope, shells and rattan. You could get the kids involved in this one two by collecting shells to be featured on the table. The hero piece of this table is definitely the clam shell that we have filled with Christmas lights.

We would love to hear how you are going to set your table up for Christmas, so let us know in the comments down below.
