The Lust List is “Your daily dose of luxury lifestyle with a creative twist” and it has amassed an incredible following for its colourful and mesmerising hand-drawn illustrations of the most luxurious lifestyle, beauty and fashion items.
Working for an awe-inspiring client list that includes Gucci, La Mer, Vogue Australia, Estée Lauder and many more, Sally’s breathtaking work is commissioned by some of the biggest names in fashion, beauty and publishing globally.
We are thrilled to be sharing our incredible collaboration with Sally in our Christmas 2021 teaser campaign. Sally has used her extraordinary talent to bring to life our gorgeous Christmas 2021 collection with her beautifully unique style. The stunning animation gives you a sneak peek of Christmas 2021 at Alfresco Emporium.
To celebrate this exciting collaboration, we sat down with Sally to ask her a few questions about her incredible talent and to get an idea of what Christmas looks like for her.
Who or what inspires you the most?
My friends. A lot of them run their own creative businesses. They live a life of passion following their dreams. Every day they push boundaries, say yes to things they aren’t always ready for, speak honestly and all whilst supporting and cheering everyone else on and helping where they can. They never cease to inspire me!!
What has been the highlight of your career so far?
Collaborating and creating the illustrations for my first animated video with Alfresco Emporium whilst simultaneously completing my first children’s book to be published next year.
What is the most valuable lesson you have learned since creating the Lust List?
To always take action and initiative. Everyone can have ideas, but it’s what you do with that idea and how you invest in it, makes the difference.
What is your favourite Christmas memory?
I have lots of beautiful childhood memories of waking up at my parents' place at the crack of dawn and creeping into the living room. My parents always put in so much effort to create magic around Christmas. They would chew up carrots and leave it scattered outside with sooty hoof prints to make it look like the reindeers were there, as well as half-eaten cookies and a half-drunk cup of milk or beer to make it look like Santa enjoyed his stopover. We would also have these really beautiful Christmas stockings that would hang on the mantlepiece over the fireplace and they would always be full. Those details made it magical.
What does Christmas Day normally look like for you?
It usually starts at my parents' place and then ends up at my Aunt and Uncles with all the cousins and their little ones. It’s a lot of fun and always great to connect.
What lux item in your home could you not live without?
Nothing comes to mind, however this may mean it’s time to go shopping at Alfresco Emporium!
