Alfresco Emporium

The Island Cafe

Coming up with a concept for a new store or cafe is such a pleasure for me. I simply LOVE it! The latest addition to Alfresco Emporium is The Island Cafe in Bundall, QLD. The concept follows the style of The Cafe in Collaroy, however, due to the size we have been able to incorporate more in terms of design and menu offerings.

The Island Cafe at Bundall

I would describe the style as French Colonial. It has elements of French Parisian cafe, created through the black and white checkerboard floors and metallic dome pendant lights. This is teamed with black Hampton Chairs and warm timber furniture from the Boston Collection. To add an islander feel, we have filled it with lush palms and plantation ceiling fans. Vintage finds also add to the atmosphere, with the old tennis racquet wall being a favourite of mine and customers alike. Other design elements include tongue and groove walls and ceiling, an abundance of giant clam shells and our favourite Caribbean friend, the pineapple. The pineapple was chosen not only for its islander feel, but it also is the symbol for hospitality and warm welcome… a perfect fit, really.

I hope you enjoy our attention to detail and feel special when dining here, whether it be for a daily coffee or a special birthday lunch with friends.
