As you know, we can never get enough of blue and white, from ceramics and wall art to cushions and rugs. Blue and white is a sophisticated colour combination to introduce to your home and works well with a Hampton style interior among many others. Our freshly re-decorated Backstage area at Collaroy now features our white Portland Hutch decorated with blue and white Dynasty ginger jars. An easy way to introduce blue and white into your home is through cushions. We have added a number of new cushions to our collection recently and our favourites have to be the palm tree print cushion, the swirling floral Olivia cushion and the classic pin stripe cushion. Mix the prints together or team with solid white or solid blue cushions for an instant refresher to any room.
Our wall of 100 Sid Dickens memory blocks has also been given a blue and white theme. Sticking to one dominate colour, in this case blue, and then combining it with neutrals, such as beige, black and gold, creates a cohesive look that allows the blue tiles to be the hero.
Our Collaroy store has been renovated with new dark brown flooring that goes perfectly with our store’s Hampton theme. The wall behind the fireplace is painted in Kara Sea by British Paints and was the inspiration for our new blue, white and yellow window display. By using the complimentary colours of blue and yellow, we have created a palette with vibrancy and energy. White accessories, brown rattan and natural timbers have been used to keep the colours from becoming too intense, tying the look together.
Blue and white is one of our favourite colour combinations as it goes hand in hand with Hamptons inspired living. Our high quality ceramic ginger jars, bowls, planters and vases are a great way of adding a sophisticated touch of this colour palette to your home. Featuring hand painted designs of intricately rendered bamboo, dragons, butterflies, orchids and other florals, these pieces have an Asian inspired look that adds a global touch to your decor.
We love these pieces grouped together in different sizes and styled with white coral and green leaves. Here are a few pictures to get you inspired.
When it comes to interiors there is nothing crisper than a home decorated in blue and white. It is timeless, fresh, and calming; and it’s one of the reasons we have decorated our store for over seventeen years with this colour palette. White furniture is often a great starting point for a blue and white room and what better way to add additional character than with this white bamboo furniture. The latest additions to our furniture catalogue, this stunning bamboo furniture adds character and interest to any room. Available in white, black, natural and painted colours this collection can be used as accent pieces or the base for a full interior.
Interesting ‘hard to find’ pieces such as the bamboo drinks stand and the coat rack with mirror bring function and style together. There is a desk inspired by India Hicks and fold up chairs which are a handy addition to any home. Drag them out for extra seating around the pool or balcony and with the bright painted colours they are great for kid’s rooms teamed with the bamboo bookcases.
Indigo, navy, sky blue, royal blue, french navy, whatever tone or name you call it, it is still blue; the most classic and timeless of all colours.
Over centuries blue and white has been used in interior design and still holds its place firmly in our interiors today. Whether you are mixing it to create a Hamptons, Plantation or seaside style it is always fresh and timeless. Mixing stripes with paisley, or batik design with bold embroidered linen, keeping it simple with blue and white allows you to layer pattern, creating an interesting timeless design that is unique for your home.
